Graham’s confirmed as number 1 Scottish dairy and number 1 Scottish food brand
To be crowned number one Scottish food brand is an accolade many brands dream of but for Graham’s The Family Dairy this has become a reality following the publication of the official Scottish Brand Review 2016, compiled by Kantar WorldPanel.
This year, Graham’s celebrates an incredible double achievement: not only do they hold their position as number one Scottish dairy brand for the second year running, but they have now been awarded the coveted title of number one Scottish food brand, beating off competition from the likes of Wiseman, Tunnock’s and Mackie’s. In addition, the family dairy has also climbed to number two food and drink brand overall, rising one place from their 2015 position.
2016 has been an incredibly busy and thriving year for the company, in which Graham’s: acquired the Glenfield dairy in Fife to support their growth strategy; became the first ever Health Sponsor of Scottish Ballet; and launched two delicious, healthy new products – quark and an organic, non-homogenised milk – to multiple listings across the UK. In support of this activity, the company has also worked to develop new partnerships with food and drink influencers across the country, who are experimenting with Graham’s products and opening up the brand to a range of new consumers.
Starting out with 12 cows in 1939, when milk was delivered by horse and cart, Graham’s The Family Dairy has grown to become a Scottish business success story. Spanning three generations, the family’s dedication has seen Graham’s grow from a small farm producing just 400 pints per day, to Scotland’s largest independent dairy, producing more than 800,000 pints a day.
With a continued focus on product innovation, the award-winning company has expanded its range to include butter, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, quark, cottage cheese, cream, Organic range and the Gold range, made from the creamy milk of Jersey cows, which they supply to over 6000 customers across the UK. Graham’s chalks their success down to a keen focus on their core brand values of family, farming, provenance and an unwavering commitment to high quality products.
Carol Graham, Marketing Director at Graham’s The Family Dairy, said: “2016 has been such an exciting year for the business and to be recognised as the number 1 Scottish food and dairy brand, as well as the number 2 Scottish food and drink brand overall is something that the whole family is tremendously proud of.”
“This has also been an important year for connecting with our customers and building the brand as a whole, while keeping our core values of family, farming, provenance, heritage and quality at the forefront of everything that we do. We are constantly innovating and are thrilled that this year’s delicious new additions to our product range are hitting the mark with our customers including our high protein Quark and Organic Whole Milk with cream at the top, which was created in response to consumer demand.
“We are family business devoted to delivering high quality, brilliant tasting locally produced products, working in partnership with over 100 farmers, and this will always be our priority. We’re so delighted with this news and will be toasting our customers, our farmers and a wonderful 2016 in celebration of this achievement – with a glass of milk of course.”
